MBIE Office

The Brief

Starting from an empty shell, this project required a complete interior fitout to create a fully functioning office environment for MBIE in Nelson. The space needed to support a range of working styles, with dedicated rooms for meetings, focused work and private discussions, while also maintaining strong acoustic performance throughout.

Privacy was a key requirement, making acoustic treatment an important part of the overall fitout.

Our Approach

Corva completed the interior fitout by constructing timber and aluminium partitions to form the meeting rooms, board room and offices. Acoustic panels were installed throughout each room to ensure the space achieved the right level of sound control and privacy.

The final layout included one large open office area, four meeting and office rooms, two smaller focus rooms, a large board room, toilet facilities and a kitchen. In the reception area, Corva created a strong visual feature using acoustic wall panels, including the map detail, along with timber panelling to add warmth and character to the space.

The Result

The completed Nelson office provides MBIE with a well resolved workspace that balances functionality, privacy and visual impact. Through careful acoustic planning and interior detailing, Corva transformed the empty shell into a professional office environment that supports both collaborative and focused work. The result is a practical workplace with strong meeting spaces, effective sound control and a reception area that creates an immediate impression.
