Corva contributed to the UCSA project in Christchurch, installing acoustic ceiling and wall lining systems within key student and shared-use areas.

The Brief

The UCSA project formed part of a major student and community facility at the University of Canterbury, designed to support social activity, events, and day-to-day student use within a modern campus environment.

Acoustic performance was an important aspect of the interior spaces, particularly within larger communal and gathering areas where sound control and comfort were essential.

Our Approach

Working alongside the main contractor, Corva installed acoustic ceiling and wall lining systems throughout the project. These included acoustic reflectors, decorative panel systems, and specialist interior treatments designed to improve sound performance across shared spaces.

The installations were carefully integrated into the architectural design, contributing both functional acoustic control and visual consistency throughout the interior environment.

The Result

The completed spaces provide improved acoustic comfort within a busy student environment, helping support events, social activity, and everyday campus use. The integration of acoustic systems and feature finishes contributes to spaces that are both functional and visually cohesive.

As part of a wider university development, the project supports the ongoing use and performance of one of the key student facilities at the University of Canterbury.
