The Brief

The project involved upgrading and reworking an existing office environment for Lyttelton Port Company, creating a modern workplace that better supported operational and administrative teams within the waterfront setting.

The interior required a combination of structural upgrades, workspace definition, and feature finishes that reflected the industrial character of the port environment while providing a professional and functional office space.

Our Approach

Working alongside the main contractor, Corva delivered a significant portion of the interior fitout works throughout the project. This included steel stud wall framing, glazed aluminium partition systems, and decorative timber wall and ceiling features.

The team also carried out seismic strengthening works to ensure the building met updated structural requirements. A key feature of the project involved the design, build, and certification of internal self-braced steel stud pod rooms, which provided enclosed meeting and workspace areas within the open office environment.

The integration of timber detailing and glazed systems helped create a balance between durability, openness, and architectural character throughout the space.

The Result

The completed workplace provides Lyttelton Port Company with a modern and functional office environment that aligns with the surrounding waterfront and industrial setting. Open-plan areas, enclosed pod rooms, and feature timber detailing combine to create a workspace that supports both collaboration and focused work.

The fitout also ensured the building met updated seismic standards while delivering a refined and durable interior environment suited to long-term use.
