Corva completed a defit and interior refresh for Anytime Fitness in Christchurch, transforming the existing gym into a more open and updated space suited to everyday use.

The Brief

The project involved defitting an existing gym space that required a full refurbishment reset before improvements could be made. The goal was to strip the interior back, remove outdated elements, and create a cleaner, more functional environment for members.

The updated space needed to feel more open and inviting, while still supporting the practical requirements of a working gym.

Our Approach

Corva began by carrying out a full defit of the interior, removing flooring, selected timber partitions, and other existing elements to return the space to a base condition. This allowed for a fresh starting point before introducing new finishes and layout improvements.

Following the strip-out, the team focused on refreshing the interior through painting, polished concrete flooring, and upgrades to the toilet facilities. Adjustments were also made to open up the layout, improving visibility and movement throughout the space.

New signage and finishing details were added to complete the upgrade, delivering a clean and cohesive result.

The Result

The refreshed gym provides a more open and functional environment for members, with improved flow and a cleaner overall appearance. The combination of stripped-back finishes and targeted upgrades has modernised the space without requiring a full rebuild.

The result is a practical and inviting fitness environment that supports daily use while presenting a more updated look and feel.
